League Rules & Info
House Rules
  • The Shoe is a private residential poker club with family and friends. New entries are by invitation only.
  • Only the best sportsmanship and behavior will be tolerated. The Shoe Management reserves the right to have any player escorted out of the building at any time for bad behavior.
  • Food and drinks are provided during tournaments.
  • The Shoe is a non-smoking facility, with a designated location for smoking outside near the back garage door.
  • Please respect the facility and clean up all your empty bottles, cans, and dishes by putting them in the designated areas.
  • Unless otherwise specified, doors open at 1pm on the designated day. The first tournament of the day starts promptly at 4pm.
  • Special events may be announced, like player bounties or bonus points. August is High Stakes Night, where the buy-in for Game 1 is $300. October is Catch Up Night, where you are seated based on your P.O.Y. ranking.
Game Rules
  • Unless otherwise specified, the Shoe Poker Club follows Robert's Rules of Poker for Private Games
  • Players in the small blind shuffle the next available deck during a active hand. When the dealer button is moved, the small blind uses the deck they have shuffled. The deck is cut by the person to the dealer's right.
  • Any players eliminated from the game can deal for the table if space is available. Shuffling is still done by the players remaining in the game.
  • Any decisions by the Shoe Management take precedent over Robert's Rules.
Tournament Rules (changed 4/30/10)
  • 20 players maximum per tournament.
  • 1 tournaments per day/month.
  • Buy-in: $180
  • No rebuys or add-ons
  • Prize amounts based on number of entries & buy-in. Only first, second, and third places will receive an official payout, regardless of the amount of players. Players can opt to chip in money for the bubble (4th place), if all remaining players agree. Money is withdrawn from the prize pool for the yearly freeroll (see below) and to cover the food & drink.
  • Starting Chips: 10,000
  • Blind Levels consist of 22 minutes for each level. The first level is doubled, for 44 minutes.
  • Final table combines at 10 players
  • It is up to any remaining players if they wish to split prize money. However, in the case of a split, tournament points will be given to players based on their remaining chips. (i.e. first place points will go to the remaining player with the most chips, etc.)
League Scoring Rules (changed 4/30/10)
  • There will be a total of 15 tournaments that will count for points. 2 games for each month from January through April, and 1 game for May through November. December will have 1 freeroll tournament that players must qualify for, but will not count towards the points.
  • Points are tabulated as follows: 1 point is given to the last place finisher. Each person after that accumulates 1 additional point until the final table is reached. Each position on the final table is given an additional point (10th gets 1 additional point, 1st gets 10 additional points).

Regardless of the amount of players in a tournament, first place will receive 50 points. Second place will receive 40 points. Third place will receive 30 points. All other positions will be scored normally.

In order to prevent short-handed games from not being as valuable as others, points for any tournament under 16 players will be given out as if 16 players played in the event. Example:
